New Year's Resolution

I love making resolutions.
I begin each year thinking of ways to become better.

I try to write down, in creative ways, ideas that I have.
Goals and steps to achieve those goals.

I always start off great!  You probably know where I am going with that comment.  I keep my resolutions about as well as I stick to anything I start in my life.

                                                         Great plans! Great beginnings.

Then poof!  Life gets in my way.  I get busy.  My book gets shoved on a shelf, or even worse, my dresser.  Then it disappears - until the following New Year's Eve.

Is this year going to be any different?  2013!  Wow, it is almost impossible for me to put my brain in that kind of mode.  I have no idea what happened to 2012!  It just flew by me in a whirlwind.  Did I accomplish anything?  I don't know.  I certainly do not want to look at my wonderful journal of things to do, and ways to do them that I started one year ago today.   That would just be depressing, I think.

But, this year is a little different.  I have but ONE resolution to make.

               I resolve
to become the person that my
Heavenly Father
knows that I can be!

That is all.  Nothing more, nothing less.

Now, I have to decide who that person is!  Before this day is over, I will have a plan.  It will be creatively put in a book.  I will decide what areas I have to work on.  Set goals.  Write down steps to achieve those goals.  I will even put my goals into categories.

I have no guarantees about what tomorrow will bring, but I do know that today I resolve to do better.  I resolve to pray more and work harder on things that are important.  If I do those things, I know that I will be closer to the Me that I am supposed to be!

Happy  New Year to all!
